Wendy Stroda, MOT, OTR/L
Wendy graduated from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, in 2002 with
a B.A. in Psychology. From there, she went on to pursue a Master of Arts
in Recreation Therapy from the University of Nebraska, Omaha. As a certified
therapeutic recreation specialist (CTRS), Wendy has worked through the
CLASS program for the past 8 years providing home health services. Wendy
has also run an adaptive gymnastics program, called SOAR, through K2 Academy
of Kids Sports in Cypress, Texas for the past 10 years. In 2014, Wendy completed her Masters in Occupational Therapy at Texas Woman’s
University, Houston Campus. She is certified through the National Board
for Certification in Occupational Therapy and licensed through the Texas
Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners. Wendy has completed the Handwriting
Without Tears course, and attends continuing education courses to remain
current on occupational therapy techniques and approaches. Wendy has worked with children and young adults with developmental delays,
sensory processing disorder, motor delays, Autism Spectrum Disorders,
cerebral palsy, Down’s Syndrome, Spina Bifida, cancer, and Angelman’s
Syndrome. Wendy has experience working in individual and group therapy
settings; incorporating play therapy, social stories, physical activity,
and community outings during her sessions. Wendy really believes in working
with the families and making sure her treatment techniques are client centered. In her free time, Wendy is the mother of 2 young children and enjoys running.
She has completed one marathon and two half marathons through Team in Training.
