Valerie Briscoe, MA, CCC-SLP

Valerie comes to The Speech Emporium after a 35+ year career in public/private
school settings and running her own private practice in the Dallas/Ft
Worth area. She worked in Arlington and Richardson ISD as well as The
Shelton School, a private school that centers on dyslexic and learning
different children. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication
Disorders from Texas Tech University and her Masters of Arts in Speech
Pathology from University of North Texas. Valerie has worked with children of all ages from preschool age through
college age, diagnosing and treating of receptive/expressive language,
articulation, fluency, and voice disorders. She has worked with a variety
of students diagnosed with autism, behavior difficulties, dyslexia and
curriculum based language disorders that interfere with academic success. An empty nester, Valerie moved from Dallas in 2014 to share her life in
Houston with her husband who has been working in Houston and commuting
for eight years. She enjoys cooking, handwork, decorating, light gardening,
and keeping up with her friends and family.
